Organizer: Future Earth Taipei Center for Sustainability Science, Academia Sinica The health impacts of climate change are widely understood by the World Health Organization and countries around the world. Conversely, few healthcare institutions, particularly hospitals, are pursuing energy-saving and carbon-reduction strategies. Raising environmental awareness within healthcare organizations, where patient care is the primary focus, and promoting actionable plans, is the challenge ahead. Much research and advocacy is still needed in this area.
This symposium will gather domestic and international experts to discuss the link between climate change and health, share progress in green hospital initiatives, and explore methods for calculating and reducing carbon emissions in healthcare. Through case studies and expert discussions, the event aims to raise environmental awareness among healthcare professionals and demonstrate how sustainable practices can be applied in clinical and management settings. Our goal is to foster international collaboration and encourage cross-disciplinary partnerships to advance green healthcare initiatives.
