Sheelah Bearfoot (Chiricahua Apache) is an environmental justice advocate. After earning a degree in Genetics and Plant Biology from UC Berkeley and gaining research experience in Indigenous food sovereignty, she worked at the Native American Health Center in San Francisco for two years as a diabetes-focused health educator before earning a Master of Environmental Health at Hopkins, where she continued her focus on Indigenous health disparities. |
