Charbel has more than 15 years of experience in decarbonization services, energy transition strategy and greenhouse gas (GHG) management, with a strong focus on energy intensive industries. Prior to joining KPMG, Charbel started his career as originator of alternative energy projects and investment manager of low-carbon technology fund. He has a track record of projects in more than 20 countries, working with multinationals mainly in Europe and the Middle East, offering GHG related services, reporting framework set up, portfolio scan and assessment, future outlook of technology scenarios and capacity building. He also supported several governments and public entities in setting up market infrastructure for carbon certificate trading.

Charbel holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. He is fluent in Arabic, English and French (written and spoken), and lead the decarbonization and climate risk quantification and assessment services at KPMG Netherlands.
