Dr. Yang received her B.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University in China in 2005, and a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National University of Singapore in 2011. Dr. Yang is Head of Smart Grid R&D Department in LITEON Singapore. Her research and development focus include Energy Management System with advanced AI algorithms, EV Smart Charging Management System, and Smart Home solutions with renewable energy and battery storage. Prior to joining LITEON, she was a Research Scientist with the Institute for Infocomm Research, A*STAR, Singapore, and Principal Engineer at Singapore Power Grid (SP Group), where she focused on Smart Grid technology. Dr. Yang has extensive industry experience working on intermittent renewable resources impacts on the grid, electrical vehicle charging/discharging control, and optimization of energy storage systems. She was the project leader for three Singapore Power internal projects, and the key contributor/industry collaborator for five national level (NRF and EDB) research projects with average funding above one million on power grids and renewable energy. Her contributions to the field have been acknowledged with three Best Paper Awards from the IEEE ICC 2017, ICMAT 2009, and ICICS 2009, respectively, and one Certificate of Merit from the IEEE OECC 2009.development focus include Energy Management System with advanced AI algorithms, EV Smart Charging Management System, and Smart Home solutions with renewable energy and battery storage.
