Temuulen Murun

Policy Researcher of Institute for Global Environmental Strategies

Temuulen conducts research on carbon market development and climate governance to enhance NDC implementation, accelerate Net-zero transition and contribute to sustainable development of developing countries. She is currently involving in the development of ASEAN net-zero roadmap for assessing governance and institutional structures as enabling conditions to accelerate climate actions. 

 

She is also engaging in transparency capacity building in Asian countries for the enhanced transparency framework (ETF) under the Paris Agreement. Her current project is implementing mutual learning programs for developing countries on their preparation of biennial transparency reports, including Article 6 reporting. She is certified as an expert for the technical analysis of biennial update reports under the UNFCCC.  

 

Before joining IGES in 2019, she worked in a private company for conducting life cycle assessment (SimaPro) and assessing social and environmental risks in supply chain. She also worked in the Ministry of Environment and Tourism of Mongolia. She has M.Sc. in environmental engineering from the Pennsylvania State University.
